Tell me honestly, can you imagine anything better than those perfect Seychelles holidays? I always dreamt of exploring the Seychelles islands, snorkelling with rays and lounging on white sandy beaches. My dream came true when I got to spend three full weeks celebrating my honeymoon by island hopping in Seychelles. From Mahé, through Praslin, to La Digue, I photographed the most beautiful beach in the world, hiked through lush forests and ventured deep into the Indian ocean, diving for the first time.

Planning the perfect Seychelles holidays
The first thing you need to do is decide which island/s you wish to visit. It is important to remember that Seychelles is an exotic and luxurious destination, especially since Prince Williams and Kate Middleton picked it for their honeymoon. We too wanted to spoil ourselves and enjoy a romantic getaway exploring the three main islands, each known for its unique features. We decided to fly with Emirates (London to Mahé via Dubai). To make our trip even more special we checked the Seychelles holidays packages for epic deals. One glance and we knew we chose the best destination on the planet.
The best advice I can offer is to ensure you pick your Seychelles island carefully. Mahé was my favourite for the beaches, Praslin was the best for the accommodation and food, and La Digue was epic for chilled long walks around the island. Whichever you decide to visit, I can assure you will want to live there forever.
The best time for your Seychelles holidays
The good news is that in Seychelles, the temperature rarely drops below 24C. Know that rain is common, usually from December to February and the dry months tend to be between May till mid-October. We went from the 2nd of October until the end of the month and had the most glorious weather ever. The sun was shining, the water was calm and perfect for a swim and dive. We had just one day of rain, but the temperatures were still high and perfect for an unconventional swim in the infinity pool.
The best times to visit Seychelles is between early May and mid-October.
How to dress for Seychelles
Wondering what to pack for your Seychelles holiday? Almost nothing! A few dresses, swimming costumes and some flip-flops. Of course, you should have some evening outfits as you won’t resist taking exotic pictures on the beach. Speaking of which, did I mention that I’ve never seen more incredible sunsets than in Seychelles? Petite Anse in Mahé was by far the best beach for a romantic walk just before twilight.
As the evenings are hot you should plan your evening outfits accordingly. Bring light dresses, skirts and sandals for women. For men, shorts, short sleeves shirts and sandals. If you planning on having dinner on the beach, don’t wear closed shoes as they will fill up with sand very quickly. Aim for light materials and enjoy the lovely weather.

The best five things to do during your Seychelles holidays
Chill on the beach
Did I mention that Seychelles has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world? White buttery sands, lined with exotic vegetation. Hard not to fall in love. The best part of enjoying a Seychelles holiday is to do absolutely nothing. Soak up the sun, swim with colourful fish, read a book and relax in your beach bungalow. As a couple on our honeymoon, this was more than we could have asked for. Oh, and don’t forget to enjoy those incredible romantic sunsets…
Dive in the Indian Ocean
My first ever dive was incredible. I got to dive in the Indian Ocean, in Mahé. For the first time ever, I saw so many beautiful corals, colourful fish and incredible marine life. It was bliss. Can you imagine anything better than diving and exploring the bottom of the ocean, hand in hand with your better half?
Hike in Mahe
No Seychelles holiday is complete without a fantastic hike on a trail in Mahé. Make sure to take your swimming costume, camera and plenty of water with you. At the end of a great trail, you usually get a secluded beach with those postcard-perfect views everyone loves.
Visit the Vallee de Mai Nature Reserve
The Vallee de Mai Nature Reserve is located on Praslin and it’s a UNESCO Heritage site. This beautiful place is home to the coco de mer, an endogenous type of palm which can only be found on this very island. This is also the perfect place to spot the elusive black parrot and enjoy a long walk on a quiet and lush tail.
Visit the Anse Source d’Argent
Located on La Digue, Anse Source d’Argent is one of Seychelles’ most well-known beaches. Start the trip by entering the Vanilla plantation and meandering around the old estate in search of tortoises. Once you reach the beach, take your shoes off, grab your camera and get ready to snap some of the most sensational pictures of Seychelles. Ready? Snap and go!
I’ve had the most amazing time in Seychelles and I really can’t wait to go back and explore even more. Do you want a Seychelles holiday? Which island would you pick? Let me know in the comments section below.
