The Friedrichstadt-Palast sure knows how to entertain. During our brief trip to Berlin, we got the chance to see The One Grand Show. If this is the first time on our website, know that we love a good spectacle. We travelled to Paris for a weekend just to see the Opera, and we went on a Tokyo itinerary in search of some of the best shows in Japan. Yet, in our travelling years together, we have never seen something more spectacular and explosive than The One Grand Show at the Friedrichstadt-Palast. So what should you expect from such show, is it really as "Grand" as they want you to believe?

What is the Friedrichstadt-Palast
For a century, the Friedrichstadt-Palast has been synonymous with big shows and incredible entertainment. Some of the biggest names in show business have made an appearance at the legendary Friedrichstadt-Palast theatre including Shirley Bassey, Joe Cocker, Phil Collins, Udo Jürgens, Hildegard Knef and Liza Minnelli.
And the best of it all? Friedrichstadt-Palast is home to the world’s biggest theatre stage. We had the privilege of going backstage before our spectacle, where we saw where the magic happens. From large rooms reserved for make-up, through impressive halls full of costumes to a maze of corridors which tell the secrets of how a show comes together. Once you understand the tremendous amount of work which goes into the creation of a spectacle, you can't ever look at the lights without imagining several people working in tandem to make everything work to perfection. It's not an easy job.
Friedrichstadt-Palast looks stunning with a gorgeous foyer and elegant staircases. This magnificent show palace can also be rented for events, concerts, meetings and conferences, exclusive receptions with catering service or your very own personal event.
Lucky for us, we can visit the theatre and enjoy the beautiful architecture and interior decor during an extravagant show such as The One Grand Show.

Ok, now you should continue reading to get even more excited about the show. The premise is that The One Grand Show is a love story which gets a little dreamy and trippy at some point during the show. The protagonist is looking for The One, and he is allowing his imagination to run wild. We then get to see his dreams which are vibrant, vivid, colourful but also intense and sometimes a little scary.
